Is there a way to hack drivers on my Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch, as to remove the annoying and useless hover "feature"?
It perplexes me that there is no option to remove this feature. The Pen tablets I remember from the late 90s required the pen to make contact with the pad inorder for drawing to work.
It would be best if the pointer onscreen would not move unless the pen tip is touching the pad, and writing/drawing could commence when the tip or the index switch was pressed.
I don't think the $1,000 ones have this "Innovative Hover Feature" I'm pretty sure you touch the screen where you want to start drawing, and it writes like a normal pen on paper.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The hover feature allows you to see where you're going to click before you click. If you don't like this feature, here are my suggestions:
1. Use a fully transparent mouse cursor.
2. Set your Wacom cursor proximity really low so the pen isn't detected until it's touching the tablet. On Linux, you can do `xsetwacom set CursorProx 1`.
