Is there a way to divide your Mahalo Answers tip between two or more equally good responses?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

This is a great idea and we tried to have it available for launch, but we couldn't get it done in time.

We will have this feature--and many more--in the coming weeks! Right now we have to keep the site up and running!

Also, we have an API we will be announcing soon, so folks will be able to build applications around Mahalo Answers in the new year!

No, you can't. You can, however, choose "no best answer," but that isn't recommended.

Sorry :(

Great Idea. Glad to hear that it will be possible in the future.

Whatever the boss says. But (yeah, there is a "but") if the tip can be divided, it should be made clear before one answers: "The tip for this question can be divided if two or more users give an interesting answer" or "There are three places for the best three answers" or something like that. If not, it would be disappointing to see how your M. Dollars get divided without warning. I think the last option would be good for something like "Official Mahalo Big Questions" or contests or large amounts of cash that will keep people coming to the site more often (that is, even MORE often).

Surely they're not 'your' Mahalo Dollars until you've been awarded them. I'd rather get something than nothing.

That is true, but there still should be a friendly warning in such a case. It doesn't have to be something rough.
