Is there a type of cooking or baking that involves only making desserts?
What is it called when you specialize only in pastries or desserts? Does the Ace of Cakes have a culinary degree?

Baking and pastry arts include dessert making. People who specialize in this kind of culinary arts are called pastry chefs, artisan bread baker, caterer or chocolatier depending on the area of specialization you are going to master. Generally, a person who received a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts (note that this covers dessert making as well) is known as Pastry Chef. Cool isn’t it?
If you are interested in making desserts, you have to gear yourself with some great interest and wide knowledge in the dessert world. Take note that this culinary skill covers a lot of food usually served at the end of the meal like fruits, ice cream, candies, cookies, cupcakes, icings, cakes and many other sweet foods. Now talking about Ace of Cakes, I believe that this is the first hit reality TV show on cooking broadcasted in Food Network that became phenomenal and led other similar shows to follow. Well, I hope in the future it could turn out to be a big school that offers culinary degree. But for now, you only have to feast your eyes with its syrupy shows.
