Is there a term for the phantom vibration of one's mobile phone felt even if the phone is not in one's pocket?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Technically called Phantom Vibration Syndrome
Commonly called vibranxiety or ringxiety

"This article warns us of the latest possible medical condition that could end life as we know it. Okay that might be going overboard, but what is the next big trauma that we will have to deal with? It’s technical term is Phantom Vibration Syndrome, more commonly called ringxiety. This is when you feel your phone vibrate in your pocket but you either don’t have your cell phone turned on or you not not even have your cell phone. I am not making this s**t up. This article appeared above the fold on page one of today’s New Hampshire Union Leader. This is unbelievable, people feel their phones vibrate when they are not on and now we have a name for it. Just check out some excerpts from the article:"

I think the way you described it (phantom vibrations) is the best way to describe it. See the article for what it may be.

I am glad I am not the only one who gets this,, not often but it is annoying. I had thought it was like a withdraw symptom from being to dependent on my cell phone.

I want to be crass. Can I? Can I? I'm going to be anyway.

Wishful thinking. Or references to the original hummer. Or the wishful thinking of the original hummer.

Sorry couldn't help myself.

I know it isn't helpful. Like I said I just couldn't help myself. I'm just trying to add a smile to people's lives. SO just chuckle to yourself and relax.
