Is there a story behind Radiohead's song creep?
It's one of my favorite songs by Radiohead and I'm curious if there's a story behind it..
Thanks :)
Thanks :)

Hey, hey, teal, great question! I love it when I can learn something new about a song!
Here goes: the song is based on a Hollies' song that was omni-present in the early '70's (and still on oldies), "The Air That I Breathe". (Yorke shared the song-writing credits with those guys.)
According to Yorke, though, it is simply about not feeling good enough for the person you're in love with. ""There's the beautiful people and then there's the rest of us," said he. He also has indicated that he was disappointed that he took out the F-word for a radio version because it took out the anger. I couldn't agree more - it really is striking the different impressions you can get just because of that one word change.
(I also like this Q because it gives me a chance to credit SongFacts.com, which I think is an AWESOME resource that keeps getting better!)
