Is there a software available that can help me search for things online as well as offline on my computer?

Tip for best answer: M$0.50
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I am assuming that you want to use the same tool to search both the contents of your hard drive and web sites on the internet. If so, here are a couple to try:

Google Desktop Search (free):
http://desktop.google.com/features.html
It will index files on your computer and let you you search your local files in a way that feels quite similar to the regular Google search.

Copernic Desktop Search (free):
http://www.copernic.com/en/products/desktop-search/index.html
It will give you a more robust searching tool for local files on your computer. I used versions of this for years, and found it to be very fast and easy and especially enjoyed how quickly it could find things in my large local email folders.
If you pair it with Copernic Agent ( http://www.copernic.com/en/products/agent/index.html ), you can search both your local files and the internet with a similar interface.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Can you clarify a bit please. Are you talking about finding items ON your computer (files, etc), or find stuff on like Amazon, etc while offline?
