Is there a site you can write and publish your book or E-book at?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I have three books published there. You can check out my profile to see what the covers look like to get an idea of what is required for the premium catalog and to find out what the Smashwords environment is like. You can download the first half of the novels for free (one of the options so people can sample your writing) and the Pronunciation Guide/Glossary is completely free. http://www.smashwords.com/profile/view/Eponleah.
Smashwords supports most if not all of the e-readers, or you can download books as either plain text or html, so there are plenty of options for people looking to read books online.
The process for publishing your works on Smashwords is quite simple, though you do need to follow some formatting guidelines. Check out the how to publish and style guidelines links in the sources section below to get started.

M$I have not found any sites on the internet that actually lets you publish ebooksfor free. But this is probably one of the few sites that actually helps you publish your own work online.
However, even though it is by far the most well known self-publishing site on the internet. My friend does not trust it at all because he believes that it is not a publishing site. But rather, it simply offers you the tools to publish. And this is essentially why he does not like it.
He claims that they do not give you an ISBN number. Therefore, Lulu is essentially self publishing. You have to pay pay for what you get. They do not distribute books for you. They do not help you get books in bookstores. They just print and charge you. If they think that you have a quality book, you would be better off with a small publisher around your community. HOWEVER there are many small publishers who are scams too. The best thing to do is get yourself a copy of Writers Market 2007 and surf through it for small publishers. You can also read about the submission procedure. But before you send anything to anyone, check with Preditors and Editors an join Absolute Write Water Cooler and surf through their Bewares and Background Checks section. You can also ask a question there and see if anyone has had bad experiences with the publisher you have in mind. He thinks they will let you know! Self publishing means you do all the promotion youreself. And if you actually want your book to make into the bookstores an online publisher is also not a very good option.
Here are some other sites that may help you.
