Is there a relationship between the high price of gas and the huge profits posted by big oil this quarter?

With everyone really feeling the "pinch" at the gas pump, does it seem possible that big oil's huge profit for the quarter is out of whack with the rest of the economy? Is this another example of corporate greed similar to that of wall street that led to the collapse of the economy under the Bush administration?

It's kind of fundamental that they are reaping profit because of the bigger profit margin created by artificially choking the market. Worked last time as well.

Gasoline prices are exactly the same (more or less) as they were at the peak in 2008. Crude Oil prices are currently lower now than they were in 2008. I think this demonstrates the obvious corporate greed behind the price at the pumps.
