Is there a problem with the Space Shuttle Atlantis?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It was noticed that there was a stretch of nicks along the right side of the shuttle when an inspection was done to see if there was any launch damage. They look like scuff marks, and NASA isn't too worried about it. Apparently it is shallow, and not a large area and occurred when debris from the fuel tank came off during lift off. Apparently there is a lot of debris floating around where the Hubble is, so another shuttle is on standby just in case it is needed. There is further information here
