Is there a lot of homework in calculus?
Is it true that there is a lot of homework involved with a high school calculus class? How many hours a day or week will I have to work on calculus problems?

I had calculus many years ago and there was always a lot of homework. It all depends on the teacher and what he or she expects out of you. When I was in high school, our teacher made us get every problem or nearly every problem right or we'd get a slash drawn on the top of the homework, which was 3% off of homework grade for the quarter. You started the quarter with 100% and homework was almost every night so you couldn't afford to mess up on the problems. In college calculus we had class 4 times a week and usually homework every class. I would estimate an hour or so of hiomework most nights. If you are really good in math, maybe it would be less time. If you tend to struggle, then you can expect to spend more time on your work. The best way to figure this out is talk to people who currently are taking calculus and find out how much time is spent each night on the homework.
