Is there a keyboard with similar build quality and tactile feel as the Das Keyboard, but not nearly as loud?

I love the Das Keyboard, but it's too loud to use in a shared work environment.

Any keyboard recommended should currently be in production and available for purchase.
Tip for best answer: M$5.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Unfortunately, neither of these keyboards are in current production.

The Tactile Pro was replaced by the Tactile Pro 2. Unfortunately, every review I've seen of it says it is not nearly as good as the orginal version.

The Tactile Pro 2.0 builds on the best features of the original, and adds a few more! Computer users who crave the feel of Apple and IBM's quality keyboards of 15 or 20 years ago will love the Tactile Pro 2.0. Unlike other keyboards made today, each key on the Tactile Pro 2.0 is built on an individual Matias mechanical keyswitch.Based on the legendary Alps keyswitch used in the Apple extended keyboard and the original Tactile Pro, the Matias mechanical keyswitch recreates the tactile feedback and force curve of the original Alps design, ensuring maximum performance, greater comfort, and faster typing speeds. You will feel the difference immediately. The Tactile Pro 2.0 keyboard's Hi-Speed USB 2.0 dock is up to 40 times faster than the low-speed USB 1.1 hubs found in other keyboards. It's also much less clutter than a standalone dock or cable.

As I'd said, I've seeing lots of reviews saying the quality of it was lower than the Tactile Pro 1.0. From these reviews it sounds like the build quality is no where near that of the Das Keyboard.

Metadot now actually makes a quieter version of the Das Keyboard dubbed "Das Keyboard Professional Silent". They bill it as a mechanical keyboard tantamount to the regular Das, but with a less obtrusive clicking sound. It's available in both labeled and unlabeled "uber-geek" version, so you can even hack while at work.
