Is there a good online HTML editor that a distributed team could use to make basic textual changes to a webpage?

Looking for a not-outrageously-priced editor a team can use to maintain some very simple webpages (including drafts not ready to be published on the web yet). Something like Wordpress, but freeform HTML, not a blog.
Tip for best answer: M$2.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Etherpad is an awesome web-based collaborative text editor. The original company was bought by google, but the etherpad product itself was open sourced. You can find many clones around the internet offering private pads for modest fees, or you can operate your own etherpad server.

Have you looked at SquareSpace?

It does not exactly match what you are looking for but it's worth a look. It has collaborative abilities among several users. It doesn't give complete free HTML access, but some. It has blog features but not necessarily have to use those.

Last I checked, free trial, without credit card or any other information.

I don't know your budget for outrageously-priced, SquareSpace does cost money. Different packages have various costs.

Disclaimer: I do not work for SquareSpace
