Is there a formula for calculating the radius of a circle?

What is the formula for calculating the radius of a circle? Where can I find the formula for calculating the radius of a circle? Is there a website I can plug in numbers and it will calculate the radius of a circle?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The radius if half of the diameter. If you are given the diameter, just divide that number by two. If you are given the area of the circle you get can the radius as well. Area equals Pi times the radius squared. For instance, if the area is given as 36Pi, you can get the radius quite easily. 36 Pi = (Pi)r^2 (note that r^2 means r to the second power). The Pi on both sides of the equation cancel out and you have 36 = r^2, so r (the radius) is 6.

If you know the cirucmference, you can also get the radius. Cirucmference equals 2 times Pi times radius. If the circumference is 18Pi then the radius can be found by taking 18Pi = 2(Pi)r. Divide the equation by 2Pi to get 9 =r, therefore the radius is 9.

If you are provided with the diameter of the circle, divide it by 2 and you will get the radius.
If you are provided with the area of the circle, divide it by 'Pi' that is 22/7 and you will get the square of the radius from where you can get the radius by doing the square root.
If you are provided with the circumference of the circle, divide it by twice 'Pi' that is 44/7 and you will get the radius.
