Is there a Facebook app that will help me pick a name for my baby?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hey nyuser33
First of all, congrats. (Assuming you're looking for a baby name for yourself.) The closest thing I could find to what you're looking for is http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=9769143670&v=info which is a page of popular baby names. So unless it's buried or the developers don't know how to promote their app well, it may be that the application you're looking for doesn't exist on Facebook. There are, however, quite a few baby name generation sites out there that exist apart from Facebook.
One of the best is Babycenter.com http://www.babycenter.com/baby-names which features a pretty simple and cool baby name generator that is set up like a Google search bar. Not only does it sort the most popular names by year, it generates further names based upon what would be a good fit as sibling names to the name you have chosen. I'm not sure how this works, but it is a great tool to get you thinking about possibilities. Either that or it'll make you more confused by giving you more names than you can wrap your head around.
Babycenter.com also has a great article http://www.babycenter.com/0_how-to-pick-a-name-for-your-baby_1505.bc about how to pick a name or where to begin. These helpful tips are a little deeper than basic common sense or catering to personal preference. It really gets you thinking about what it's like to assign a name to a person that they'll carry for the rest of their life.
Hope this is helpful.
