Is there a correct way to jog/run? Also, what are some good tips to get the most out of these exercises?

Such as foot positioning, posture, etc.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The first thing you want to do is check with your doctor to make sure it is safe for you.
Then you want to go to a specialty sports store, where they can measure your shoe size and get the right shoes for the type of foot your have(flat feet, high arch, etc.)
Then start slow and make sure you get warmed up before you really get into the run.
Have fun! Check out the video below.

Follow the following guidelines to be able to jog effectively:

1. Do some warm up by stretching your whole body. This is important because it will help increase blood flow to your organs and supply the much needed nutrition to them when it is needed within the time period of your exercise. It will also help prevent sprain or strain while doing the exercise.

2. Be sure to maintain a good posture to allow the maximum amount of to enter your lungs at a smooth rate. The maximum input of air supply will mean more oxygen that can be absorbed by the lungs to supply the tissues and organs that will need it during the exercise.

3. Have a keen ear to your body. If you find it hard to jog, slow down. Just do brisk walking instead if you can't jog. You can start to build your stamina by brisk walking or fast walk and progress to jogging later.

4. Jog at the right pace with proper posture. This will help you feel more refreshed and cleaned after a half hour jog.

5. Make sure you jog regularly for making it a routine will make your body stronger over time. A routine jogging is better and will bring your more good results compared to a one time deal.

6. Don't forget to stretch and cool down after a jog for it will allow your body to recover better from the stress and strain of jogging and you will help remove nitrogen waste and lactic buildup in muscle which is the common cause of muscle pain.

I beg to disagree, if you visit the source and compare, I rephrase and did not copy paste.
