There are two great channels that feature food and cooking, the Food Network and the Cooking Channel are both available on cable. Check your local cable listing for the channel numbers.
The Food Network features shows like Iron Chef America and Food Network Challenge that features the best of the best in cooking competitions. It features shows like The Worst Cooks In America, which is a competition that takes every day people who can’t cook and challenges them to learn how to cook over a course of a few weeks. Diners, Drive-ins and Dives takes you across America and introduces you to some of the best hole-in-the-wall eating establishments with unique and delicious fare.
Many of the featured chefs on the Food Network cross over to the Cooking Channel, such as Iron Chef Michael Symon who has his own show, Cook Like an Iron Chef and Iron Chef Mario Batali, who is an occasional guest host.
Both of these channels offer entertainment, great recipes and education on cooking skills, different foods and spices and nutrition. Although Bravo is not a cooking channel, it also features a show, Top Chef, which is a very popular cooking competition.
