The Winchester Mystery House is actually in San Jose, CA, not in San Francisco, though it is in the general Bay Area. There is nothing like it, actually. Not that I've seen, anyway! You walk, apparently, for over a mile, within one house. There are stairways to nowhere, and walkways that end. Home to Madame Sarah Winchester, of Winchester Rifles fame, after her husband and child died, she was apparently so grief-stricken, that she was trying to keep the workers busy renovating round-the-clock to get rid of the ghosts. Legend has it, though, that the ghosts are a permanent fixture to many who visit. Scared yet? No, really, you should go.
