I don't think North Korea is an imminent threat but Afghanistan is going to take a while.

Just recently, USA Today reported in this article http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2009-12-06-afghan-war-gates-clinton_N.htm?csp=34 that Robert Gates, the Defense Secretary for the US, expects us to stay involved in Afghanistan for 2-4 years. North Korea is not an imminent threat, but considered a stalemate. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20091204/pl_nm/us_korea_north_bosworth_1 Though they are dangerous, right now they are allowing communication. As long as there is talk from both sides, then there is hope that North Korea will not engage us as an enemy yet.
