That said, so far the release of the Unibodies has gone smoother than most. If you have to upgrade now, they look like a good machine. There are issues edd states but 1) you will know if you want 17" (IMHO that's too big) 2) get a matte cover if you can't stand it.. there are good ones. 3) if it has a persistent problem Apple will fix it. 4) Annoying for backup, but HDD's are so cheap now ..downloads and streaming are the future for this kinda thing IMHO. Blueray is a real battery/CPU hog. 5) has been fixed for SD content, the usual annoying problems with DRM persist. (projectors are hardly HD.) Who does DRM-video to a projector from a Macbook anyway? 6) They're still okay cards for the MacBook, and excellent cards in the Pro ..choose which you need.
Fact is, for me, Apple have finally addressed just about everything I didn't like in their previous machines: no white screen-bezel (yay!), illuminated keys throughout (double-yay!), graphics chipset in the plain Macbook that's adequate for me, sturdy aluminium shell, LED backlit, glass touchpad with that horrid massive button finally removed. (awesome)
The ones I use at work are great. Shame I already have machines at work and home and have an iPhone in-between so I don't really need one. :)

Also there are 4 finger gestures. Four fingers down scroll is expose, four fingers scroll up is desktop. Native compatibility with the iphone headphones with button, minor improvements on the system. If you have money, it is definitely worth it because a next revision of Macbook Pro won't come for a very, very long time anyway.

1 - no 17" version, for those that like it
2 - no matte screen, for those that like it
3 - some users report their computers buzz constantly
4 - no blu-ray drive or support for it
5 - preemptive hdcp support hurts projector compatibility
6 - graphics card and processor increases are minimal
Speaking only on my part, being that I've been waiting for 2 years for Apple to produce a machine worthy of my demands, I would say it's best to wait unless you really need it. Also, once Nehalem is incorporated (about a year from now?), a strong speed boost is expected, independent of processor clock speed.
