Twilight books are considered fantasy by genre. While you could argue they fall into the horror realm as well, in general there is more suspense then there is gore. It is almost a cross genre when you are speaking of vampire books. Depending on the focus of the novel it can be more fantasy or more horror. Horror is often considered a sub-genre of the fantasy arena. The reason is because fantasy is based on creatures that don't exist in reality. Many horror books rely on such creatures. Some horror books do not, so whether they fall in the genre or not depends on the nature of the horror. Vampires are definitely fantastical creatures, making the genre fantasy.
You can read the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, which are similar to Twilight. The Mediator series by Meg Cabot is also fantastical and deals with love and ghosts. These have a similar following in age and gender to Twilight books.
