Is the post office closed on presidents day

Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Yes, the Post Office (United States Postal System, USPS) as part of the Federal Government observes the following Holidays for 2009:

Thus, most Postal (retail) offices will be closed today, Feb 16,2009. There is no normal mail delivery today. (Although many Postal locations leave the lobbies open for access to self-serve services and some drop-off of packages.)

* Thursday, January 1 - New Year's Day
* Monday, January 19 - Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday
* Monday, February 16 - Washington's Birthday (President's Day)
* Monday, May 25 - Memorial Day
* Saturday, July 4 - Independence Day
* Monday, September 7 - Labor Day
* Monday, October 12 - Columbus Day
* Wednesday, November 11 - Veterans Day
* Thursday, November 26 - Thanksgiving Day
* Friday, December 25 - Christmas Day
* Friday, January 1, 2010 - New Year's Day

The next USPS holiday closure will be Memorial Day.
