I would say it is possible to "drift" in a GT-R, and to do so in Tokyo, but it's not the best choice for such activities. This is because the GT-R is a highly (possibly one of the most) sophisticated All Wheel Drive vehicle that is designed to stay firmly planted on the road. Drifting is more of an art form best performed using a powerful rear wheel drive vehicle. It is possible to adjust the front-to-rear power distribution on a GT-R, but I would say it is not recommended as the warranty for high end Nissan vehicles has a reputation for strictness
So if the answer you are looking for is simply "Does the Nissan GT-R have the power and handling to perform a Tokyo Drift stunt?", then yes, it does. But if you are asking generally "Is the Nissan GT-R, a "Tokyo Drift" vehicle? " I would say no, it is not.

Hmmmm, that's a tough one. For Japanese vehicles, I would say the Nissan Silvia is quite popular (Usually older model and modified beyond all recognition), Toyota Trueno or a Toyota Supra. But I am of German heritage (a few gens back), so a 911 would do nicely!
