Yup. It depends on how big the eruption is, but some predict that the ash from the volcano will cover the skies throughout much of Alaska. Breathing in the ash is dangerous for both dogs and humans, so trainers are going to head east to get as far away from it as possible so the dogs can continue to train.
But as far as directly affecting the race, as in postponing or canceling it, doesn't sound like that's an issue...
