Is the iPhone considered an Android- powered phone?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

No, the iPhone runs on an Operating System called IOS developed by Apple, which is now used on iPhones, iPod Touch, and iPads. Android devices run the Android Operating system developed by Google. While applications developed for IOS can not be run directly on Android (and vice-versa), with the increasing popularity of Android devices, many developers for the iPhone have created "Ports" of their applications for the Android environment.
A fairly decent comparison of the two can be found here.
