The original Apple Power Mac G4 was introduced at the Seybold conference in San Francisco on August 31, 1999. The iMac G4 was a computer that was produced by Apple from the beginning of 2002 to mid 2004. Neither of these computers is currently available and they are considered obsolete.
I think you may be confusing G4 with 4G. In telephony, 4G is the fourth generation of cellular wireless standards. It is a successor to 3G and 2G wireless standards. 4G Phones offer a peak download speed at 100Mbit/s and is used with the newest phones. The new iPhone 4 is a G4 device. The next version of the Apple iPad and iPod Touch will also offer G4 capabilities. G4 is currently the fastest celluar network and provides faster web surfing and downloads then older models, which is why it should be considered when ordering a new mobile device. The iMac is a desktop computer and has wireless capabilities with a router but is not compatible with telephony cellular 4G technologies.
