Is The Hague right to cancel Snoop Dogg's June 27 appearance?
On June 17th, organizers of the Parkpop, a family-friendly summer festival in The Hague, The Netherlands, dropped Snoop Dogg like he was hot, citing his previous encounters with the law on drug and weapons charges, his affiliation with an American gang (Crips), and the desire to keep the festival "free, open and friendly." They cited previous incidents of Snoop Dogg being denied visa's to Great Britain and Australia, among other concerns.
It is indisputable that Snoop Dogg has been arrested multiple times on charges related to weapons, drugs (including cocaine), and even murder, and that he claims allegiance to the Crips. Nor can his lyrics honestly be described as family friendly.
On the other hand, Snoop has been to The Netherlands many times before; there is no way the promoters and city officials were unaware of the nature of his reputation and his music.
Is the city right to cancel eleven days before the festival, or should they have tried to come to some sort of compromise agreement? What would have been a reasonable agreement?

I like the music and the lyrics of Snoop Dogg and have since the early 90s with the track from the Deep Cover movie soundtrack "187 on an Undercover Cop"..and I don't stop.
While the canceling of Snoop at their festival is bordering on tragic.. it is their festival and they can decide who plays there.
Could the cancellation have had better timing? Yes.
Could the decision be unnecessarily judgmental? Yes.
Would I cancel Snoop Dogg at my festival? No.
Was it wrong? No because it is their festival and they can decide who plays there and make any prerequisite for playing at the festival that they like.. that does not make it a good decision or even a better festival.. in my opinion it makes the festival worse ...but the decision was the festival organizers to make and theirs alone.
A reasonable agreement would have been to compensate Snoop for his time and trouble. I would imagine that by this time, 11 days before the festival, many of the arrangements, if not all, have been made and paid for, canceling the appearance at this time so close to the date of the show will undoubtedly cost the Snoop Dogg camp some real duckets and them Crips do not like being ripped off or coming off like a sucka.
Looks like The Hague now has a beef with a gang

That's pretty funny. I think we should suggest it.
Do you think Snoop ever does family friendly shows? You know, with out the ho's and the popin' caps in everybody, without the drugs....oh never mind, it sounds more like Snoopy and Charlie Brown.
I just can't seem to find a 100% family friendly musical performance by Snoop Dogg. I did find that Snoop has been in a family friendly animated move called Arthur and the Invisibles released in 2006, maybe The Hague can show this a their festival.
