Is the government working on tort reform for the health care industry?

Why does insurance cost a lot? How can the health care industry help keep the costs of health care down?

Tort reform is already a major issue in any civil trial. Here's a law article that addresses exactly that and how it will affect cases: http://www.finneylawoffice.com/articles/tort-reform/ Tort reform as it stands includes stipulations such requiring the loser of a case to pay for the winner’s legal fees, keeping supposedly frivolous suits out of court, and putting limits on certain types of compensation. So, it's definitely there. Insurance costs, however, are another thing completely.

Tort reform is a law consisting of several ideas and laws formed to change the means our civil justice system works that would reduce court proceedings or damages . It remains to be heated debate among legal officers in the US. The role of tort reform in the health care industry discusses issues of medical malpractices and lawsuits that add to the increasing costs of insurance providers.

Health care insurance in the United States can be very costly (as compared to other industrialized countries). Insurance in general is not cheap because of underlying reasons both political and economical (but perhaps primarily due to the high cost of modern medicine such as drugs, physician’s fees and facilities, and so on).

Health insurance may actually benefit any person since it covers the cost of medical expenses especially during medical emergencies. It will save the patient or beneficiary from overly expensive medical costs. For example, if you suffer from an illness, you can take advantage of health insurance which pays for your medical bills.

Still, many US citizens find health insurance very costly. The government (policy-makers) has much role to do in keeping the costs of health care affordable for all individuals.

Actually, I can see efforts from Obama's administration to improve health care. but the same problem goes as insurance is getting more and more expensive.

Some Experts contend that tort reform will just help insurance industry to gain more profits though it was touted as the only solution to curb health care costs. The Huffington Post made a remarkable article bout this http://www.huffingtonpost.com/anthony-tarricone/fool-me-once-the-insuranc_b_304594.html
