Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hello @razorkite!

The "factory that changed the world" is the Highland Park Ford Plant located in Highland Park, Michigan at 91 Manchester Avenue. It is considered a National Historic Landmark in 1978.
The complex includes offices, factories, a power plant and a foundry. It has a spacious design and set the precedent for many factories and production plants that were built later on. It became the first automobile production facility in the world in 1913 that implement the assembly line. In the late 20s, Ford transferred that automobile assembly to the River Rouge Plant complex in nearby Dearborn.
This is probably the most famous factory in history and currently still in partial use as a warehouse. This is home of the moving assembly line and designed by Albert Kahn, a famous architect and catapulted Detroit to wealth and fame. It was built in 1909 and produce 1000 "Tin Lizzies" a day and in its last days if vehicle manufacturing it produced Ford tractors. Production stopped in the early 70's and has suffered greatly from neglect and faces an uncertain future.
It is now used by Ford Motor Company to store documents and storage for the Henry Ford for artifact storage.
