Is the Android a good phone for a teenager?

Are the Android phones popular with the teens? What kind of phone would be best for my teenager? Are they too expensive for kids to have?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hi there @malibub!

Yes, Android is actually a great choice for everyone. For me, one best feature of Android is that you have wide range of phones to choose from. There is currently over hundreds of mobile phones out there which uses the Android operating system so no matter what your interest is, no matter how much budget you have, there will be a right Android phone for you.

As for your teen, you can check entry level to mid level phones for him or her. Phone features varies so choosing one for your teen should be based on his or her interests. Here are some suggestions I have for you.
- LG Optimus One – this is currently the mobile phone I’m using and so far I’m happy with it. Check this page for specs and reviews: http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_one_p500-3516.php
- Samsung Galaxy 5 – this is a cheap phone but works great, tried this one already and I think this is the best option for kids. Check here for details: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i5500_galaxy_5-3371.php
- Samsung Galaxy Mini – This is also a great mobile phone which was released only few weeks ago. It’s packed with great features. Check this link for more details: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_mini_s5570-3725.php

So far those are the phones I think will be a great choice for teens. They aren’t expensive but works just great. You can also consult your carrier for more options.
