Is the Adsense engine working/up to date?
First, the page views/revenue earned doesn't seem to match up. For example, I have a page that has been viewed 224 times, with 0 revenue. And at the same time, I have two pages that have been viewed 37 and 15 times, with 16 cents and 5 cents of revenue, respectively. Are these numbers right? And do people actually need to click on Google ads to get revenue, not just page views? (if so, that's troublesome, given the crazy off-topic ads on some of these pages)
In addition, when looking at the leaderboard of most page views/revenue earned, it is different than what shows up in personal profiles. As @jasoncalacanis said in a previous question (http://www.mahalo.com/answers/mahalo2/top-10-mahalo-members-set-to-make-over-m-100-year-managing-pages-already) the leaderboard is two days old. But the amount shown in the profile is LESS than what's on the leaderboard. For example, in @jeffhoard's profile, it shows that he has one page with 3 cents of revenue and one page with 22 cents of revenue. But in the leaderboard, it shows he has $1.22 in revenue.
Is there some way to figure out which number is accurate?

In this case I at one point had pages that earned money but have since abandoned them. Since I already earned revenue off them that stays in my account.

So a purely informational/academic page with no or limited sale potential, makes limited or nothing even though viewed? (Adsense doesn't even come through on the page in Safari)Doesn't this make those type of pages not be created or managed? because for some there is no incentive to do so (the greater good not being enough for people)? And what of those people who view the net with AdBlock type programs running on their browsers?

People write on Wikipedia for the love of the subject, and no financial reward. They can do the same here if they want to. If they care about making some money as well, they'll need to think about the topic they select.
However there are all kind of pages that have advertising potential. If you are genuinely helping people with something that's important to them, there are usually products and services that go with that.
Even if you picked a topic like Trigonometry - which is still available - there are ads on the page. Ads for people to become maths tutors, sites that help with homework, maths courses, tuition services etc.
As for people using ad blockers, that affects all pages, whether the topic is astrophysics or Paris Hilton. :)
