Is Texas Holdem connected to Omaha poker?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

They are different games but do have some similarities...
In Texas Hold 'em each player has two private cards and five face up community cards that all the players can use.
In a showdown the best hand is made up from any combination of 5 cards using the players two cards and the five community cards, in some instances the best hand is made up solely of the shared community cards.

In Omaha players have four private cards and like Hold 'em there are 5 community cards, the difference is that the player MUST use two of their private cards in making a hand.
Omaha is also often played as a hi/lo game. This means that the pot (the bets) is split between the person with the highest value hand and the person with the lowest value hand. For low hands straights (5 consecutive - or running- cards) and flushes (5 cards of the same suit) do not count. If someone wins both the high and low pots it is called a scoop.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.
