Buying Marvel comics in 2009 was another brilliant move. Not only did he get it at a low price due to the change in the stock position but also since the recession was upon us, he had little competition to worry about. It not only made financial sense but it buys a whole host of new characters for Disney to develop in their animated movies and exploit in their theme parks and merchandise.
