Is riding a bigger horse harder than riding, like, something as small as a pony?

When you're 5 ft. tall, and love to horseback ride but you're terrified of falling off, is it smarter to ride a smaller horse?

Check out the forum below, it sounds like there are a lot of factors to consider, but that in general there are less issues to deal with if you're a bit on the short side when riding a smaller horse. Lots of practical info and viewpoints in this thread...
