Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce will all most likely be Hall of Fame inductees. Still, the Celtics seem to rely on Rajon Rondo more than anyone and Garnett, Allen and Pierce are all in the downside of their primes. Rondo has been the Celtics’ main weapon of attack so far in the playoffs and he was the most consistent Celtic during the regular season. Is Rajon Rondo better right now than any of The Big Three?

As of now he can be at par best with his teammates for sure still needs more years of experience and exposure to master his crafts as a solid playmaker. Kevin Garnett is one of the superstars in the league and the team needs him inside the paint. Ray Allen’s sweet shooting skill is an asset to the team as well as his creativity in making a silky smooth drives to the basket. Paul Pierce the team’s main weapon is indeed firing on all cylinders so as to speak. Pierce is a great threat inside and outside and capable of creating shots for him,
Rajon Rondo is truly earning his way towards stardom, but the Boston Celtics is reaping success because of the great cohesion and awesome teamwork shown by the top players of the Celtics as well as the second stringers of the team.
Rajon Rondo will even get better in the years to come and with his great work ethics and desires to improve further, he will be in no time join the same league where his top teammates stands and this is inevitable and will come sooner or later.

If this was a season or two ago, I would say that Rajon Rondo would not be the best player on the Boston Celtics. However, he has vastly improved his game over the past couple of seasons and it seems that the Celtics offense goes as he does. The knock on Rondo game in previous years was that he couldn't hit the jump shot so opposing players left him open. He has made teams pay now with an improved jump shot. He also has the ability to turn what appears to be a half-court offensive set into an easy alley-oop dunk. When Rajon Rondo is seeing the floor well and taking care of the basketball, he is as good any Celtic player on the team. Two seasons ago Rondo was the one having to adjust to his big three counterparts but now it is Rondo that ignites this team on the offensive end and he is a pesky defender as well. While everyone agrees that the big three are all future hall of famers, Rajon Rondo has definitely carved out an identity for himself on this team and he will more than likely become the best player on this team for many seasons to come.

It’s pretty hard to say who exactly is the best player on the Boston Celtics and that’s what makes the team such a formidable team. They’re probably going to go to the NBA finals and could even win the whole thing. Rajon Rondo is certainly someone who puts up some really good numbers. Paul Pierce is usually the go-to player when you start talking about who the best player on the Celtics is, and certainly Kevin Garnett is always in the discussion when talking about the best players.

I think it will take another year or two before I can say with any real confidence that Rondo is the best player on the team, but he’s certainly playing like the best in this postseason. He had a pretty good year, and certainly 9.8 assists per game Is something to be proud of, but if he wants to be recognized as the best, he’s going to need to up some of his other numbers.

Tough question, but answering it will be interesting. At the current time Rajon Rondo has been the most important piece in the Boston Celtics taking a three to two game lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is a tough match-up for the Cavaliers, who do not have a guard quick enough to handle him. He gets to the basket way too often and that results in a lot of kick-outs to those great Boston shooters. At the same time, the inside presence of a plethora of big men makes his job just that much easier. Any point guard would love to have a front line that includes Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Rasheed Wallace, Glen Davis and a hoard of others. It makes it almost impossible for the Cavaliers to double team Rondo and that in itself is trouble. So, in my opinion, Rondo is only a piece of the puzzle and combines well with Boston’s other superstars. At this time, in this series he is their most important player and I guess that makes him one of the best, at this time, based on his performance. In the next series, that may change.

In the postseason he has been as good as Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce. It could be the beginning of him passing some or all of them as the main player, the go to guy on the team. Checking the regular season stats, Rondo was last among the four in scoring at 13.7 ppg, second in field goal percentage at 50.8%, first in assists at 9.8 per game, last in free throw percentage at 62.1%, third in rebounds at 4.4 per game and first in steals at 2.33 per game. Regular season stats certainly don't project him as the best of the four but he is the point guard, the floor general and many times the point guard is or becomes the leader of the team. Watching Rondo step up his game in the playoffs tells me he's ready to take over the Celtics for years to come, long after the Big Three retire.
