Is Prediction a leap of faith? Is seems the past can not guarantee the future. Is complexity theory breakdown these rule of thumbs?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I don't think prediction is a leap of faith. The past may not guarantee a specific future , but it can be a good predictor statistically. If you flip a coin 1000 times and get heads around 500 times, you can expect, with good probability, that you will have a significant number of heads if you flip the coin 1000 more times. Also, a prediction isn't an assumption, it's a hypothesis that is not assumed to be guaranteed.

Yes, but if you can't trust your data, then you can take more data. Otherwise, if you will never trust your data independent of data size, then you shouldn't take data in the first place.

Science admits that the data will never be complete. Empirical evidence sets are partial and constantly subject to change. The leap of faith occurs when data is gather, analyzed, and rules extracted. The prediction may or may not be true in all cases that seems to be the leap of faith.
