Is pottery an art class I can take for college credit?

Can I take a pottery or stained glass class for one of my college art electives? What other art type electives can I take and get credit for, for my fine arts degree?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Whether or not you can take a pottery or stained glass class, and whether or not the credits will count toward your major, depends entirely upon which college you attend. That’s something that is going to be different at each college, so you’ll need to check with the college you’re attending, the college you plan to attend, or the colleges that you’re considering attending. Most, if not all, colleges will have a course catalog that they can give you that outlines how many electives you’ll need to take, and what your options are. There should be a list of available electives, and how many credits they are worth.

If you’re ever in doubt, you can always call your academic advisor and ask them if the class counts before you register for it. If you don’t have an academic advisor, call the main school line.
