Is pandorum a real thing?
I watched the movie Pandorum and it explained Pandorum as a mental meltdown for a lack of better words...Is there such thing as Pandorum or is it merely fictional? If fictional what is the worst stage a mind can be in? How crazy will it drive a person?

Hey @tealmyster -
Thanks for turning me on to this movie. It looks really good. I love scary and I love science fiction.

Pandorum isn't a word used in the mental health world. I think the name of the movie is taken from the word 'pandemonium'.

In my opinion, the worst stage a mind can be in would be schizophrenia. Of course there are degrees, but having this mental illness also brings with it depression and other feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Of course there is medication to take for this disorder, but people complain about the side affects and will stop taking the meds only to bounce back and forth between extreme stages of paranoia.

At the most severe... a persons delusions and hallucinations can put them in an almost catatonic state.
That to me would be the worst.

I thought the movie was excellent and super creepy....My mom has a problem when movies get to be too much for her she has to go do laundry...and she definetly did a couple times during this one!
Thanks for the asnwer, I agree on the schizophrenia I had an old friend with the illness and if I remember correctly is was Lithium that was prescribed to him and it seems the meds made it worse from time to time but it was probably because he was on and off of them...
