Is owning a sub-penthouse apartment still prestigious?
Is there something to be said for owning a sub penthouse, or is it just like one of the other floors in the building because it's not *the* penthouse? I've also seen developers label the two top floors as "penthouse floors" and then label the two below that as "sub-penthouse floors". Is that stretching the truth, or does "penthouse" mean top floors rather than top floor?

If your in a prestigious building then owning one floor down is still an accomplishment. Of course owning the Penthouse is the top spot but again it is chasing the Jonses. If you are happy where you are than this is all you need. If the top two floors are connected into one apartment than yes the next floor down is sub-penthouse. Also sometimes in buildings the sub-penthouse has more sq. footage than the top floor if the builder went all out in his height restrictions and didn't allow for the utility space. Than the sub-penthouse is more prestigious. Also what happens if the Penthouse is one floor and the sub-penthouse is a two floor apartment.
