Is Oracle going to jack up prices for all its acquired software in the future..BEA, MySQL, Siebel ?

It has been going through a spate of acquisitions , the latest one being SUN. Do you think that it is going to increase its average selling price now that it is getting closer and closer to a monopoly ?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

They'll probably do it until they start getting slapped with antitrust threats. What I believe they were really after is Java, because Oracle has always been a multi platform company.

Don't worry too much about MySQL, remember you have always been able to get it for free, you only had to pay for enterprise versions and for support contracts. It would take years to remove everything open source from MySQL, and not even Oracle is that stupid.

Oracle is customer centric company. Pricing will depend on customer support levels.

Yes.
Oracle’s business model in recent years has been to roll-up (buy-out) its competition and then charge monopoly rents.

Hoping SAP and open source community will stop that.
