Is Oolong Tea a good option for [[people] who want to lose weight?

There is some evidence that oolong tea may help people lose weight, but its effect is probably not any stronger than green tea, black tea, Pu-erh, or any other type of tea. I have an article that explains more about the evidence for tea having a weight loss effect:

Basically, it's not going to hurt you, but the effect it has, if any, is not going to be very large. Oolong tea is delicious, however, and it may help people lose weight because it is a robust, full-bodied tea which helps people feel more full. I'm actually drinking oolong tea as I am writing this, I am drinking a pouchong (Bao zhong) oolong, a lighter, greener oolong, from Taiwan.
Oolong tea is widely variable in price, but there are very affordable ones available. I recommend buying high-quality loose-leaf tea, and buy from a tea company that focuses on flavor, not one that promotes tea as a weight loss product. If you want to read reviews of oolong tea, I run an interactive tea website which lists lots of different sources of oolongs and has more information about the different varieties of oolong:

For my quick recommendation, I'd point to Life in Teacup as an outstanding company with very good prices on high-quality loose-leaf oolong tea.
Enjoy!
