3) Why is GE conducting this recall?
In
cooperation with the CPSC, GE is recalling certain GE dishwashers
manufactured between January and October of 2004 because they present a
risk of fire. The dishwasher control may melt and ignite. GE is
offering a free repair of the dishwasher. There has been one incident
of fire and no injuries.
4) How do I get the free repair?
Call
1-800-804-9802 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET Monday through Saturday to
schedule the free service. It will take the technician 20-25 minutes to
replace the control.
5) How long is the recall valid?
The recall is open indefinitely, and free repairs will be completed as long as requested by consumers.
