You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Elvis Presley was born in Tupelo, MS on Jan. 8, 1935. He and his family moved to Memphis, TN in 1948 where he attended Humes High School, graduating in 1953. It was from his exposure to various musical genres in Memphis, which included pop, country, gospel and black rhythm and blues, that he established his own unique style of music that would earn him the title of "The King of Rock and Roll.

Graceland was Elvis' mansion in Memphis, TN. After his death in 1977, the cost of the upkeep of Graceland became too much for the Presleys and under the supervision of Priscilla Presley, Graceland was opened to the public in 1982 and as of March, 2006 is designated as a National Historic Landmark.

His childhood home in Tupelo, MS, the actual place of his birth, is also opened to the public. Birthplace Park includes the home, a garden, a walking tour, and the latest addition has been the Assembly of God church that Elvis attended as a child. The city of Tupelo has also arranged a driving tour that includes many of the places that were a part of his youth.

The remaining family does not live at Graceland, but his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley often visits Graceland. Elvis, along with his parents and grandmother, are all buried at the Graceland estate.
