Is "Love Actually" the best or worst movie ever made?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$I can't imagine why anyone would think it's one of the worst. Sure it might irritate some people that were in a Scrooge-ish kinda mood and want to say "Bah, humbug" at the idea that love is all around, and want some gritty reality instead.
I think I read a reviewer somewhere who wrote that people who criticize it miss the point. It's not meant to be some kind of serious weighty drama, it is a modern fairy tale and a comedy. You don't criticize fairy tales for being unrealistic or simplistic, you just sit back and enjoy.
Now I don't think it's really one of the best films ever either, but it has lots going for it... lots of enjoyable moments... some great lines... very good performances... moments that make me laugh or smile... and even, dare I say it, some insights on love and relationships.
Personally I think you gotta love a film in which Hugh Grant gets to say:
"The SAS are absolutely charming. Ruthless trained killers are just a phone call away."

I agree. I found it really overlong, almost painfully so, and kind of self-congratulatory.
