Is Lil Wayne Blogging From Prison with an iPad? If not, how is he connecting to the Internet and posting to his blog?

Tip for best answer: M$0.26
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Prison links has an entire page of inmate blogs.

I don't think that Lil Wayne is allowed to have his own iPad or computer while serving time.
I'm sure that computer use in prison is highly controlled in a community area and shared with limited amounts of time.

I searched the ACLU site on prison rights with the use of computers, but couldn't find anything specific.
It may vary from state to state, and which type of prison one is in.

So, it looks like the prison he is serving time in does allow inmates to blog, but I'm sure if he snuck in an iPad... it would just be a matter of time before he would be back doored for his Apple bling.

Lil Wayne is doin his bid ups at the Rikers Island and has no internet access he has to have others on the outside read his letters and then post them to his new blog. Trust me Lil Wayne is lucky if he gets to use the phone let alone touch a computer.

He even calls his first posting a "letter"
"But this isn’t all about me, you are the reason for this letter"

Inmates in the United States do not have Internet access. Any communications by inmates are strictly controlled and monitored.

If inmates have unfettered access to the Internet, telephone, etc. they could use them to intimidate witnesses or taunt victims. Inmate phone calls are strictly monitored and recorded. Cell phones are contraband that can add extra time onto an inmate's sentence.

Inmates that keep blogs do so with outside help. I have no doubt that what is on Lil' Wayne's blog is his own writing, but he is not able to post it onto the blog himself. Like everyone else, he would have to put it in a letter and get someone to write it on the blog for him - I am sure that he has many people that can do that.

Some minimum security prisons allow prisoners to have Internet access, but even if Lil' Wayne were headed to minimum security, such privileges usually have to be earned.
