Is LeBron James still the most valued player?

With Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Rajon Rondo and Dwight Howard all in line to make the NBA Finals, is it possible that LeBron James has lost his spot as the game’s most valuable asset? Is he still the player, more than any other that you absolutely would not trade? LeBron James has been in the NBA for seven seasons and has not won a championship. When does that start to affect his value as a team asset?

It will certainly hurt LeBron James but not much. His popularity will still be definitely there and his game is at par best with the best. He is unstoppable down the stretch and his all around game continues to fascinate fans while inflicting too much damage on his opponents.
I think James is not surrounded with players that will certainly complement his game. A dominant center is a must in a team with king James doing the wrecking job. The coaching staff must do their homework well, scouting their opponents well and making right adjustments and smart plays especially in the playoffs where what is at stake is great. Most championships teams have great coach on their fold just like the San Antonio, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat to name a few.
I think King James needs more maturity and experience to perfect his basketball craft to improve further his game. Remember that Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan needed time to mature in the game before they won championships for their team.

While his team is not going to make the NBA finals, I still think Lebron James is the most valuable asset in the league. He simply does not have the complimentary players that the other big names you mentioned do. James came very close to averaging a triple-double per game and that is something very few other players can even dream about doing. It is not James’ fault that the team that was built around him simply cannot carry whatever load there is left over. James and the Cavaliers are very similar to Michael Jordan and his first couple of years in Chicago, when he would put up a ton of points and tried to let his teammates in on the action but they simply couldn’t keep up. Eventually, the Bulls got better complimentary players and Jordan became the king of the NBA championships. I think when James leaves Cleveland, you’ll see him reach his true potential, and the fact that there is still a ceiling he could push through is quite amazing.
