M$As for the slaughter of animals to wear their fur, I'm not for it. I suppose if it happens to be a by product of another industry, like the meat industry, then maybe. But if animals are being killed specifically for their fur then no. I think many societies have evolved past the need for this kind of status symbol, especially since it harms other creatures for no good reason. The development of synthetics has come a long way. Of course, we could say that synthetics are killing our environment. But that is a whole other conundrum.

M$...I know lots of people who still catch, kill and eat animals and then make things out of the pelts. Perhaps my view is different because I'm from Alaska.. hunting for food is not irregular here...in fact in areas its vital to survival. I do know how to treat fur for use yes.
The animals bred for fur have their carcasses sold off for many different things, nothing is wasted.
That answer doesn't seem to reflect the real world. No one catches, kills, eats any animals and then makes a fur coat from its fur. For that matter, most fur bearing animals are not edible, although a few are. And furs used by furriers are mostly from commercial breeders. If you caught, killed, and ate some rabbits would you know how to treat their fur and make a hat or something? It seems wasteful to eat something and then not use the fur, if possible.

M$There is nothing wrong in wearing fur. There is of course also nothing wrong in those that decide not to do so. Neither side should demonize the other.
It should be a matter of personal choice.
