Is it worth traveling to new EU countries like Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$One of the bonuses will be that you can visit in the summer and it's actually comfortable, unlike Italy and especially Spain!
It's worthwhile to bone up on the history and culture before you go. When you know more about the country, it becomes much more interesting to visit.
friends from Estonia and Latvia

M$Thank you for your question.
It would be interesting to visit the Baltic States of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania as they would have a considerably different history and culture to Western Europe. Summer would be the best place to visit. While you're there, you might also want to visit St Petersburg in Russia which is relatively close.
Lonely Planet has information on traveling in all three countries:

M$Estonia's government is the most technologically advanced of any country, because they had the opportunity to build it after the Internet was in wide use. The people are young, trendy, and friendly, and most speak English. The exchange rate with the U.S. dollar is also more favorable than most European countries, and you can stay in modern hotels amidst rich historical buildings for $90USD.
We watched the Eurocup finals at Molly Malone's in Estonia -- that was a very cool coming-together of people from around the world.

M$I believe Estonia was a county long before Soviets occupied it after World War 2. It regained it's independence along with other Baltic States in 1991.
@girmant The current Estonia has only been a country since August 1991. Before that it was part of the USSR.
@girmant Okay... but the bar sign says, "Estonia's Oldest Bar, Established 1994" which is what I was referencing.
how can the county's oldest bar be established in 1994? all these countries have history reaching 11th - 12th century...
I bet these guys have a great sense of humor :)
Here are the three flags of the Countries. I definitely feel this area of the world is worth a visit.
