Is it worth $40 more to stay at Motel 6 or should we camp?

Now, for your vacation, it really depends on what helps you recharge. If just getting away from your regular routine is needed and WiFi and no bugs is really high on your 'must have' vacation list, select Motel 6. If you need to recharge or reconnect and you like spending time in nature, go for the camping option.
I've attached a video to help you make your selection. When you are watching the video, see if you relate to Alvin or Dave. If you relate to Alvin, book the motel, if you relate to Dave, opt for camping.

M$It will always rain when you are taking down tents! Cold water in the shower, Food that falls into the fire. No ice at the camp store, and the park ranger says "watch out for rabid raccoons this year". Nah, really? did he say rabid raccoons?. My neighbors pull in with a huge RV and run a 15 million decibel generator all night (why do they camp?). Try these dryer sheets, they really work on mosquitoes (yeah YOU try them, I tried last year and I'm still too anemic to give blood).

M$As far as the TV, if this is something both of you enjoy and I know you enjoy no bugs, and then the motel is the definite answer. I loved camping in my younger days, but I have to admit that it was a lot of work and I don’t really want to ever do that again. I’d rather have a nice hot shower and then go visit friends at the campground if that’s the way it is. Either way, have fun!

M$The motel sounds like good value for money, the sheer pleasure of not having to take a hike in the middle of the night if you want to go to the bathroom is a big consideration as far as I'm concerned. Then as you say, there are the bugs! I have been a take-away for bugs on more occasions than I care to remember, so I wouldn't put myself on a handy menu for them!
If you don't get to take a break very often, then comfort has to be a big consideration.
Whatever you decide, have a great time!

M$Also from personal experience if you’re camping on the beach you’re going to have sand in everything, your clothes, your bedding, and even in your food. It is pretty tough to go to sleep with a sleeping bag full of sand and no matter how much you shake it out there is always some left.
