For the sake of argument I am going to say Anorexia.

First of all - it is not socially acceptable to make fun of fat people, yet skinny people can be targeted, I am thin (not anorexic) and constantly hear "why dont you eat something?" and "please put some meat on your bones" etc.

I am naturally thin, I eat alot, but my metabolism wont let me gain weight, and nobody ever defends jokes on thin people like they would attack somebody who said to a fat person "hey why dont you just stop eating"....

Anorexia is sometimes viewed as less acceptable as obesity - yet these people (not just females but males too) are often victims of a society that views weight in a twisted way. They die painfully, and sometimes alone - their self esteem shattered.

Obese people ususally have a supporter - even when they are bed riden they usually have somebody who loves them (in a twisted way) enough to feed them. Many of them find pleasure in eating. Even if the pleasure is short lasted and they are feeding their pain - it offers a releif - a releif the anorexic never feels.

I'm not sure what you're getting at with this question.

It's a tragedy to die at a young age, no matter what caused it. Obesity and anorexia don't really have moral elements. to them. They're either states of being or illnesses. If it's something like drugs or crime, that might make it a bit "worse" -- but it's a rather pointless question. Far beyond being better or worse, a young death is tragic.

There are choices to be made whether you are over weight or underweight. Both are hazardous and both can cause a death. I wanted to know how people equated the 2 polar issues. Yes a young death is tragic, but I had a question as to how people see the 2 causes. To me it wasn't pointless.

Why is this question a conundrum?
One of the things to learn is to balance our life so we can be as healthy and active and productive as possible to be able to help ourselves and others in order to create a better civilization. To say what is better by asking which is less bad is an impediment to the growth process. We should endevour to view life from a standpoint of how we may serve God by serving others. I find that health will deteriorate less if my focus is world embracing and at the same time centered on being active while I am still able. Yes there are body types which produce metabolism problems. Most large people have too much time to focus on food. Most overly thin people have an incorrect body image and are overly focused on the self. Don't try to control life and don't let it control you. Balance. Problems come from a society which produces too much leisure time and does not consider a life of service or self improvement, let alone direction. Having the time to focus on what is the best reason to die proves the point. Think of which is the best way to live and rise above yourself.
The question is totally moot.
