Is it to late to study acting?

just took a theatre course at my university. I'm majoring in something else. I just put on a show and I did really well!. I'm 28, and I can sing and I used to be a dancer but I never thought I could act. I really really like it. Do you think its too late to train in acting wether from university or from a proper performance school?. I don't think it is, not like it was with dancing. I'm interested in enrolling in a theatre program whilst I'm working in the UK this summer. They consentrate on classical training which would be the kind I would seek if i did take another acting course.

I agree with genius.

The only time it is to late to start doing something is when you are dead. I have a quote on my email. "It's never to late to be what you could have been." If you have a passion for something then go after it and don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. If you put your best effort forward in this endeavor you will never tell yourself later in life "What if?" because you will have tried to achieve a dream and in that you will have succeeded.

I disagree with this unhelpful rating. There is nothing unhelpful anywhere in this comment or genius's comment for that matter.

Yes, what is up with the unhelpful answer? I do not understand why there is the "itchy finger" here on this site, it is the one negative that brings it down.

You Must Give it a shot. It doesn't mean that you have to go to become the next Brad Pitt but can do what you love doing. There are so many places to participate that can be rewarding - particularly community theater.

One of my favorite books about a small town putting on a community play is Boo Hiss. Very fun.

Have fun. Live life. Go for it!

No, it's not too late! You obviously enjoy it, and acting is a great way of expressing oneself. Your creative intelligence and imagination are important, and worth your attention, time and effort - you'll need them, regardless of which professional career you are pursuing.

well 28 is not an age to think of stopping to do any thing , as a matter of fact thiis is the age where u will be matured enough to think and learn faster .. according to me u should attend courses on acting .... you can also join part time acting classes if you have a facility as such.. in this way u can manage ur work and your acting..
ya about the classical training course is a good option . as i have seen people who are good at classical are good at others also .. only few people have interest in classical and those are the one who are really talented ... your interest towards classical seems to be a pointer that u have real good skills of acting

It's never too late. When you look at movies, TV, and theatre, there are parts for all ages. It's much better from a believability standpoint to have an actor who is in the ballpark of the age of the part, rather than someone who is obviously several decades away from the age of the part.

There have been many fine character actors who've had long working careers spanning most of their lives. Acting isn't just for the young! If this is your love, then go for it.

Well, first of all, 28 is not old. Many well known actors started to work at an advanced age. You should also keep in mind that you already have a profession. This situation renders you two advantages: 1) you still pay your bills and allows you to choose parts; 2) acting can be stress releasing.
Spending some time in the UK is a great idea since it is a beacon when it comes to performing arts.
When it comes to study I always think of this quote (some say it's from Gandhi, some say it's anonymous): Learn as if you were going to live forever, live as if you were going to die tomorrow.

I think it is late for you to study acting. Why not try other courses like computer troubleshooting or perhaps computer programming. You can also buy books about webpage design or html and study by yourself. You mentioned that you are good in singing and dancing. Study videography and post your videos on YouTube. :)

What makes you think that everyone would be interested in those courses. You should have offered some variety at least.
